About Sloughis

This noble dog of the desert originated in Ethiopia and Egypt, where it's skill at hunting gazelles, hares and jackals and wonderful temperament made it a revered member of desert tribes. Finding it's way to north west Africa in the middle ages, the Sloughi has since become popular throughout Europe and North America, and still inhabits it's native homeland.

The loyal, loving temperament of these dogs makes them exceptional pets for responsible owners. They tend to be somewhat reserved with strangers. These graceful and elegant dogs require plenty of exercise and weekly brushing to be an integrated part of the family.
